Minnesota Twins Home Opener

Athletics 1-Twins 2

Great win for the Twins in an exciting pitchers duel between Carl Pavano and Brett Anderson. The Twins had me a little worried there for a second as our offense was completely shut down by a superb Anderson. Pavano did a great job keeping us in the game giving up just the one run until finally Kubel, Span, and Mauer were able to string a couple of hits together, giving the Twins a much needed victory.

It was great to see Carl Pavano bounce back from his rocky start against Toronto and deliver a dominating performance going 8 innings giving up just 4 hits and 1 run. Joe Nathan was another bright spot picking up his 3rd save in 3 attempts. He continues to look good coming back from Tommy John surgery. The offense continued to struggle however, managing only 2 runs. The hitters need to start producing soon or the Twins could find themselves in a deep hole early in the division race.
